staffHere at El Centro Pet Medical Center, our staff is filled with highly trained and experienced animal lovers who care deeply about their jobs. Everyone makes it a goal to learn everything they can about the field they love in order to give our patients the highest level of care.

Our team is also kind. The members treat each patient, whether healthy or sick, with plenty of love and attention. They educate owners on the importance of preventative care to keep their pets healthy, while doing everything they can to help when their pets are not feeling well.

patPat Davis , D.V.M.
Being an Air Force brat it is hard to say where you are from, but I was born at Patrick AFB in Florida playing on the beaches and watching missiles catapulted into the heavens. I lived the longest in Clovis, New Mexico-home of tumbleweed Christmas trees and an abundance of dust storms. I had a wide variety of pets growing up (though my mom drew the line at skunks and snakes), enjoying each and every one. My passion was horses, and still is today.

I married my husband, Jimmy Davis, while he was in vet school. Many years after his graduation, I decided to go to vet school. I attended LSU my first year, then ended up transferring to and graduating from Auburn University in 2000. (It’s hard to go to one school when your spouse is military and moves frequently).

We have lived in the Killeen area since 2000 with a brief hiatus when the military sent us to Monterey Bay, California. We have two children, Ashley and Jordan. We also have a menagerie of dogs, cats, cockatiels, horses, and chickens, as well as some fish.

jimJim Davis, DVM
Dr. Jim Davis, husband of Dr. Pat Davis, was born in New Mexico. He attended Kansas State University where he graduated in 1988 and received his Veterinary Medicine degree. That same year, he joined the army as a Veterinarian, and later served 20 years retiring in 2009. He has since worked in private practices around the local area, including emergency services.

Cheryl Sofaly, DVM
Dr. Cheryl Sofaly graduated from Colorado State University in 1995, and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University in 2003. She was raised in New Mexico, has two wonderful sons, two dogs, three cats, five horses, and a small herd of cattle. Before joining the El Centro family Dr. Sofaly served as a military veterinarian for 22 years.

Jimmy Black, DVM
Dr. Jimmy Black grew up in Vermont where he developed his passion for the outdoors. He plans on continuing his hobbies of fishing, mountain biking, gardening, and composting in Texas! Jimmy moved here from Washington with his partner, Dr. Sarah Kwon, and their dog, two cats, a turtle, and a snake. He has a special interest in dentistry and exotic pets. Dr. Black is excited to join the Killeen community and help make sure your pet lives a happy, healthy, and pain-free life!

Sarah Kwon, DVM
Dr. Sarah Kwon recently moved to Killeen from the Seattle-Tacoma area. She graduated from Washington State University and finds her purpose in work through cultivating the relationship between owners and their beloved animals. Her favorite aspects of practice include surgery, dentistry, senior wellness, and holistic medicine. She is in the process of getting her acupuncture certification and integrates both western and eastern medicine. She hopes to use this focus to best serve her patients in the Killeen community. Outside of work she loves to travel, play in Stillhouse Lake with her Taiwanese rescue dog Tato, cuddle with her two cats, Luna and Cheese, and cook plant-based food for her partner, Dr. Jimmy Black, and friends.

Our Office Manager, Tammy has been working at El Centro for 20 years. She has 3 Boston Terriers, “Greta”, “Daisy”, “Hugo” and “Louis” her Chinese Crested. Her only vices are Starbucks and Boston Terrier puppies.

Zacharias was born at Scott & White hospital in Temple, Texas. His stepfather was in the military, so Zach has traveled quite a bit during his childhood including Kansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. In 2014 he moved to Houston and attended the Vet Tech Institute of Houston. Zach completed the program and received his Associates Degree in Applied Science in October of 2015. Zach lost his best friend “Kapone”, a lab/Pit Mix, in late 2013 and continues to search for another companion. Zach started working for El Centro in February of 2016.

I was born in Pennsylvania but then moved around the country because of being a military family. My favorite place I’ve lived in is Germany. I have a bachelor’s in biology from the University of Mary Washington that I used to work as an Assistant Zoo Keeper for a few years before moving to Killeen with my husband. I have four cats named Talia, Sasha, Blueberry, and Cheese. I love reading, baking, doing crafts, and spoiling my cats rotten in my spare time.

Tiffany is a 12 year military spouse and moved to Texas in 2011 from Germany. She has five dogs-Remy, Houston, Roxy, Tre, and Reeba. She also has two cats-Mishka and Rhys, and a ferret named Tina. Tiffany completed the Animal Behavior College program in 2015 and was later hired as a Technician Assistant. We love having her here as she is a great asset to this facility!
